"And Lot went out, and spake unto his sons in law, which married his daughters, and said, Up, get you out of this place; for the LORD will destroy this city. But he seemed as one that mocked unto his sons in law." Genesis 19:14 "Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts and saying, Where is the, promise of HIS coming, for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation?" 2nd Peter 3:3-4
In all that is going on in our world, there are a couple of phenomena occurring today that are truly striking. First, several sections of the Bible are being ignored by Christians, mission boards and their associated churches, with points of doctrine such as: evangelism to the Jew first, a pre-tribulation rapture of the church, eternal security and Genesis 1 through 11 as real, true history. Moreover, I haven't come to these conclusions on my own. We receive many newsletters and other communications from believers across the country and virtually all assess the situation the same. We are clearly in a time of weakness and compromise. This is not to say that we will all agree all the time. However, it seems there is a fear to even discuss the aforementioned matters. This situation is quite regrettable but to be expected. In our scripture quotes, notice the similarity between the two. The rescue of Lot is often presented as an example of the rapture. When Lot delivered the message of doom, the listeners thought he was joking. This was, no doubt, accompanied by derisive laughter. I'm pretty sure they're not laughing now! It's kind of the same today only more intense. The quote from Peter features human reason (uniformatarianism), unbelief and, no doubt, derisive laughter. So, as the rapture draws near, let us bind up ourselves with prayer, preparing for whatever the LORD brings our way and stand fast in it. Site visitors might review Acts 5:41 in this connection. 7B News --- Our ministry is scheduled to retain a booth at the Creation Evidence Expo this coming September. All are asked to pray for and consider attending this fine event. CEE will be held at Crossroads Bible College in Indianapolis this year.
