At this writing, some of you have received our annual fundraising letter. While we believe this letter to be self-explanatory, we might go over its contents for site visitors not on this mailing list.
First, Seven Baskets is a completely volunteer organization with no salaries being paid. We do, however, reimburse individuals for normal expenses included in ministry business. Thus, all monies that are donated go for resources, fees and other expenses that arise. We do everything as funds allow. Aside from grants and/or special gifts, what we receive from our annual letter is our budget for the year. We seek only a one time gift of any amount. In this way, we will not intrude upon normal giving and/or other obligations. If the LORD burdens you to do more, we are deeply appreciative.
February is the so-called black history month. It is truly breathtaking to view what the forces of evil have accomplished in this area referred to as race. In the first place. there is no such thing as race, other than the human race. Since there is only one pigment for human skin color(melanin), it follows that there is no such thing as a black person or white person or any other type of colored person. We(humans) are all the same color, only in different amounts of melanin in our cells. Thus, evolutionary thinking has done its dastardly work once again. That is, to label individuals, via language, in a manner that engenders hostility and mistrust. These color terms we mention are now embedded in our culture to a point that we may never be able to change it. Changing society is not the first command of our LORD to the church but it is a natural by product of the gospel and its subsequent result.
It behooves us then, to pray for small children and teens who are being bombarded with this evolutionary propaganda each day in public school. GOD knows they need all the help we can give.
