General Review, by Catherine Myers:
This four DVD set documents the life and work of Dr. Henry M. Morris, "Father of the Modern Creation Movement." The set includes a documentary comparing the life and work of Dr. Morris to Charles Darwin and their influence on the world. It includes two Fireside Chat DVDs—conversations between Dr. Morris and men such as John Whitcomb and Tim LaHaye. The fourth DVD is from the memorial service held for Dr. Morris in early 2006.
This resource provides a fascinating look at the history of the modern creation movement, much of which is recounted by the Faithful Messenger himself. It details Dr. Morris’ rise from humble beginnings to his place in history as the gentle warrior who took on the religion of evolution and its attack on Christianity; standing on the infallibility of the Bible and the literal history of Genesis. Dr. Morris showed the world that God’s Word could be trusted in all things, through his research, discovery, teachings, and writings on the many scientific evidences for Biblical creation. Of special interest are the Fireside Chats which are Dr. Morris’ personal narration on the hard work, struggles, triumphs, and sacrifices he bore for his Savior through his work in creation research. His work has impacted countless people around the world, and has called the church back to the literal interpretation of Scripture.
This resource is a great blessing, and I recommend it for anyone interested in learning about the history of the creation movement. It is also a great resource if you want to learn more about how evolutionary teaching and beliefs have affected western culture and society, especially in public education and university systems throughout the world.
